The Mission
The Humankindness Film Festival, brought to you by Humankind Partnership, celebrates resiliency and the power of art actively engaging with the world during the global pandemic.
We invite you to unleash the power of your visual storytelling and imagination – creating stories that make meaningful contributions to the global community as it wrestles with its challenges as they inspire, equip and educate your audience.
Throughout 12 months of remote working, learning and living, you also had the opportunity to think of the stories you want to tell. We want to hear and see your stories of resilience.
The Format:
A video of up to 5 minutes in length that illustrates what the term “Resilience” means to you. Any filmmaking platform can be used, including mobile devices.
The Timeframe:
Entries should be submitted to HMNKIND@gmail.com from February 8th – April 25th, 2021 until 8PM EST.
The Process:
Submissions need to be uploaded to Vimeo. Email the url to HMNKIND@gmail.com along with a brief bio of the filmmaker. Film Festival limited to High School Students and older. There will be a panel of Judges made up of Documentary film makers, Independent film makers, Film Festival Executives, and other film industry experts.
The Prize:
Three Winners will be chosen. First Place will receive a $1000.00 prize, 2nd Place will receive a $500.00 prize and 3rd place will receive a $250.00 prize. Each of the winners will have access to a 1-hour Zoom Session with an award-winning filmmaker. The winning submissions as well as all finalists, will be posted on Humankind Partnership’s website and social media channels and other documentary film-related outlets.

Rules:
By submitting video, digital and/or any content, or any forms of entertainment, advertising or promotional materials as part of an entry to the Humankindness Film Festival, you grant permission to Humankindness Film Festival to: show, play and/or publicly exhibit the submitted content as part of the Humankindness Film Festival: and to exhibit and communicate submitted content to the public by telecommunication. Entrants acknowledge and agree that Humankindness Film Festival may use the content, or any reproduction of the submitted content in whole or in part, in telecasts, webcasts, exhibits, books, pamphlets, and other publications featuring or promoting award entries, and for which Humankindness Film Festival may receive compensation. The entrant holds all necessary rights and/or licenses for such uses of the submitted content by Humankindness Film Festival as referenced above, including all music and other works contained within the content.
Entrant shall be responsible and shall hold Humankindness Film Festival, Humankind, LLC, Humankind Partnership, its assignees and licensees harmless for talent and/or other residual fees or claims arising by or due to the uses of the submitted content by Humankindness Film Festival as referenced above. Entrants submitting content to the Humankindness Film Festival certify and confirm that they have the full authority to grant the rights to Humankindness Film Festival for the uses referenced above, on its behalf and on behalf of any client for whom the content was produced.
